When I "emerge sync" or run "glsa-check -f all", I just get the text "'str' object has no attribute 'insert'". I try deleting /usr/portage/profiles and resync'ing, but it doesn't go. Just the same message after it downloads the updates. The last updates I've done were about two months ago (~8/04), updating to the new KDE (3.3.0) and prelinking my system. I've had no other problems since then. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles 2.emerge sync 3. Actual Results: [regular emerge sync stuff to stdout] Then to stderr: !!! 'str' object has no attribute 'insert' !!! 'rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles; emerge sync' may fix this. If it does !!! not then please report this to bugs.gentoo.org and, if possible, a dev !!! on #gentoo (irc.freenode.org) Expected Results: It should update the portage cache. > emerge info !!! 'str' object has no attribute 'insert' !!! 'rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles; emerge sync' may fix this. If it does !!! not then please report this to bugs.gentoo.org and, if possible, a dev !!! on #gentoo (irc.freenode.org) I also have this same problem on my other Gentoo box, updated at the same time as this one. It runs a similar configuration.
