I'm not against it - but please keep in mind that Plasma 5.16.x in Wayland mode is nearly unusable *without* Qt 5.13. See: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409549

Even if that were a regression over 5.15.5, which I think it is not, Wayland papercuts are no concern for stable yet.

I have ignored anything related with use= -X, +minimal, .elogind and +systemd

Have you tried latest Qt 5.12.5? It might very well be fixed there.

I upgraded to Qt 5.12.5 and re-emerged kwin and kwayland. Qt 5.12.5 does NOT fix the problem.
