Your outout has nothing to do with a comment you referenced. Missing \begin{document} is a generic exception throw for LaTex as well as for pdfLaTeX calls, morover, we have always used pdflatex to build documentation and never pdftex mode. You will probably need to invetigate ther problem more if you can, because I do not see obvious reasons for tests to fail (xcolor of this version has been in the tree for long enough to catch any major bugs otherwise). Looks invalid for now. Created attachment 585732 [details]

build log
I forgot to add the build log when I created the file. Take a look for yourself. I have xcolor on this machine since 2015 and have 5 installs of 2.12 sind Oct. 2017 without ever having a problem with it. Updating dev-tex/pgf to version 3.1.4 solved the issue. Maybe dev-texlive/texlive-pstricks should depend on =dev-tex/pgf-3.1.4 instead of just dev-tex/pgf? Re-opening the bug, as it fails with current stable pgf, but succeeds with unstable pgf-3.1.4 yes, this souds more reasonable now. I have just marked newer pgf stable, newer release fixes lots of compat issues with tl2019 in anyway, including this one. |
