In [1] only GUSE is set, but ignored since i.e. the profile default/linux/amd64/17.1/hardened defines pie in use.force.

The same applies for ssp.

A call to set_use_mask in [2] should fix this. I just tested this quickly by setting it in set_portage and it worked.

I have overwritten the log, but if needed i can rerun it.

Please provide a bit more info:
- your end goal . I guess it's to get a crosscompiler for some ${CTARGET}.
- what command you ran
- what problem you are having
- the output of 'emerge --info'
