openoffice 1.1.2 has security problems, that's the reason it was pulled from portage and it won't come back, also 1.1.3 is not "broken". It works for me (and lots of others) 1.1.2 might have security problems but if you read 68174 then someone needs to fix that because 1.1.3 bin or compile certainly DO NOT work here. ~ $ oowriter running openoffice.org setup... /usr/bin/oowriter: line 178: 18599 Segmentation fault /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/setup ${UPDATEFLAG} -R:/etc/openoffice/autoresponse-1.1.3.conf >&/dev/null setup failed.. abort so I tried... /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/setup -R:/etc/openoffice/autoresponse-1.1.3.conf Segmentation fault and then tried... $ /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/setup Segmentation fault |
