I also have this very same problem, but sometimes doing upgrades it manifests itself differently, instead of all of libcom_err missing, I'm only missing the .la file. This is breaking a bunch of stuff for me. ssh is totally borked, and I cannot build subversion. Any Advice? grep: /usr/lib/libcom_err.la: No such file or directory /bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libcom_err.la: No such file or directory libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libcom_err.la' is not a valid libtool archive make: *** [subversion/libsvn_ra_dav/libsvn_ra_dav-1.la] Error 1 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... !!! ERROR: dev-util/subversion-1.1.3 failed. !!! Function src_compile, Line 119, Exitcode 2 !!! make of subversion failed !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. re-emerge heimdal, it should correctly build libcom_err.la then I'm having pretty much the same problems. Postgresql wouldn't compile because it was failing on a config check that failed because a heimdal program couldn't load libcom_err.so.1. I tried revdep-rebuilds but they would always fail beacuse of the lack of libcom_err.so.1. I finally was able to recompile most of the packages but then ran into other packages that failed because of no libcom_err.so.1. I finally bit the bullet and manually creted a symlink. My question, however, is why doesn't libcom_err.so.1 seem to be created anymore by any of the packages? e2fsprogs is who should install this, but now we even have sys-libs/com_err and sys-libs/ss which are separated out. the soon to be 0.64-r1 of heimdal will take advantage of this fact. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 45682 *** |
