Description Michael Kiermaier 2004-10-22 10:33:36 UTC
libgphoto2-2.1.4 has a bug that prevents from downloading movie files bigger than 10 MB from Canon cameras.

The error message in this case is:
*** Error (-102: 'Corrupted data') ***

A problem description and a possible fix can be found here: http://wintersun.org/linux/ixus.html

The fix is a trivial patch:
Line 92 of libgphoto2-2.1.4/camlibs/canon/canon.c should be changed from
    #define SL_PICTURE      (  10 * MEGABYTE)
to
    #define SL_PICTURE      (2048 * MEGABYTE)

Unfortunately, I have no experience how to create a valid patch for the portage system. But it should be a easy exercice for many people here, I presume. So it would be nice if someone could add this patch to portage.

It should also be noticed that they claim that this problem is fixed in CVS. So a patch will not be needed any more when a new version of libgphoto2 pops up.
