Description Allan Graves 2004-10-20 05:05:16 UTC
Upon building orbit2.12.0, i recieved this message during the build:

Orbit then went on to

and finished the build\install. This means that while emerge thinks i have certain libraries on my system, I don't. It also thinks that the ebuild finished successfully.
(the idl problem occurs in the 2.10 builds as well, but the build stops)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge orbit-2.12.0
2.
3.

Actual Results:
System is a bit messed up.

Expected Results:
Stopped, or optionally built successfully. (reported failure or achieved success)

i'm running on alpha linux.

Comment 2 Allan Graves 2004-10-20 05:45:49 UTC
Please note, this is not just a duplicate.... the ebuild for 2.12.0 continues on as if it worked. The 10.x ebuilds properly note that a failure has occured.
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-20 05:52:45 UTC
its the same error, thats what counts

if you can give the info i requested in the other report we'll reopen.

I have tried with ccache on, off, -j1, -j2, and combos. I posted this in the other bug, wasn't sure where you wanted it. :)
Comment 5 Allan Graves 2004-10-25 07:16:35 UTC
yes. also rebuilt libidl with those options as well.
Comment 6 Allan Graves 2004-11-01 08:44:47 UTC
unsure which bug i should be entering data in. I've rebuilt libIdl to 0.8.4 with no ccache and -j1. Rebuilt libOrbit, tryed both 2.12.0 and 2.10.3.....no such luck.
