firefox 66 ppc64 build log
here's build log
Hi again! I upped importance a notch, because personal workstation is almost useless without www-client. How can I help resolving this issue, given I have no coding skills? (In reply to Gutleib from comment #4) > Hi again! > I upped importance a notch, because personal workstation is almost useless > without www-client. > How can I help resolving this issue, given I have no coding skills? This is a tier 3 arch which means it is not even officially supported by upstream anymore. The error is very clear it is needing nodejs. you should start your testing with firefox-60.x which is the esr branch and moves much slower. (In reply to Gutleib from comment #4) > How can I help resolving this issue, given I have no coding skills? You can build from upstream source and report upstream bugs. ;) See https://wiki.raptorcs.com/wiki/Porting/Firefox for a small tutorial. Gentoo www-client/firefox-66.0.3 builds for me on Talos (ppc64) but crashes. Which is an improvement as FF 64 or 65 did not build at all with the Gentoo ebuild. Please test 68.0.1 which is now keyworded for ppc64, if you have problems with it please open a new bug with up to date information for us to debug with. (In reply to Jory A. ATM I only got 2 problems: 1.) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1504834 2.) Videos on youtube do not start playing. Though the preview pictures of the stream correctly work. But I thought these to be runtime problems. And AFAIK Gentoos bug policy is to preferably do upstream bug reports for runtime problems which do not lead to a crash? |
