renicing X improves its responsiveness dramatically, especially when
some heavy task is running

I use
:0 local /bin/nice -n -10 /usr/X11R6/bin/X

We'll let users customize this for themselves. We try to provide as close to upstream as is reasonable. If you'd like to pursue this further, feel free to file a bug at bugs.freedesktop.org.
