USE flags: gorgon /home/rich # emerge -pv hplip These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild U ] net-print/hplip-3.18.12::gentoo [3.18.6::gentoo] USE="fax hpcups snmp -X -doc -hpijs -kde -libnotify% -libressl -libusb0 -minimal -parport -policykit -qt5 -scanner -static-ppds" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_6 -python2_7 -python3_4 -python3_5" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_6 -python3_4 -python3_5" 0 KiB Total: 1 package (1 upgrade), Size of downloads: 0 KiB Checking the config.log, I found this little gem: ... configure:17649: checking for cupsDoFileRequest in -lcups configure:17674: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o conftest -O2 -pipe -march=skylake -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed conftest.c -lcups -lcrypto >&5 /usr/lib64/libunistring.so.2: undefined reference to `c_strcasecmp' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status ... Checked the above lib with 'ldd', seemed like no problems... Traced the lib to dev-libs/libunistring-0.9.10:0/2::gentoo, and re-emerged it. Problem went away, hplip compiled successfully. What would cause that? configure:17616: result: yes configure:17649: checking for cupsDoFileRequest in -lcups configure:17674: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o conftest -O2 -pipe -march=skylake -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed conftest.c -lcups -lcrypto >&5 /usr/lib64/libunistring.so.2: undefined reference to `c_strcasecmp' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status I don't think this is an issue with hplip but actually related to distcc. I see you have distcc enabled. So this is most likely bug #675500. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 675500 *** |
