After changing the debug variable to USE="-debug", this will now compile. Sorry for the delay. jadetex ebuild doesn't use debug USE flag at all. The problem in your log is that /usr/bin/mktexfmt segfaults in src_install() (and thus causes sandbox violation). I don't know how /usr/bin/mktexfmt interacts with debug USE flag.... Perhaps app-text/tetex doesn't like -march=pentium4? I removed the debug flag on tetex, not jadetex. Now jadetex compiles and runs just fine. Thanks!
