Description PhobosK 2018-12-25 11:52:51 UTC
Hi,
There is a new upstream version of Webmin 1.900.

"This version includes wildcard Let's Encrypt SSL cert support, theme and translation updates, support for announcements to Webmin users, and a bunch of other bugfixes and small improvements."

In terms of ebuild there are no changes in the compile or installation process, so only a version bump from the current portage app-admin/webmin-1.881 is needed.

Can some Gentoo dev please bump the version?

Thanks

Hi, seems like this package lacks a maintainer. Would you like to proxy maintain this package?

Hi @Tomáš,
First I want to sincerely thank @Pacho Ramos for the latest portage commit of app-admin/webmin-1.881

I had already discussed my proxy maintaining issue in my previous version bump bug for Webmin - https://bugs.gentoo.org/600422#c17
And in a few words...

1. Yes I am using Webmin and I try to keep its ebuild updated. This is a maintenance from my point of view and a good way to contribute back to Gentoo
2. I do not accept the way you handle the Gentoo users that want to contribute to portage with your 'GLEP 76: Copyright Policy' in its part -> available to the public real name signing of the 'Certificate of Origin'... 'cause from my point of view, it is a way off... not to mention that it is also incompliant with the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
3. Until there is no new revision of the 'GLEP 76: Copyright Policy' that removes the part of real names etc... I cannot be officially a proxy maintainer...

Anyway I do not need any credit or copyright holder for my maintenance of the ebuild, so @Tomáš as a Gentoo Dev you can version bump it to 1.900 thus keeping it up to date and supporting our efforts (the ordinary Gentoo users) not to be in vain :)

Thanks for the understating and your cooperation

I'm too just an ordinary user, so maybe it's best to ask on proxy-maint irc.

You don't want to maintain it because you would have to provide your real name? Just asking if i understood it well.

1.930 has been released. See also bug 692740 which would mask this package because several versions (from 1.890 to 1.920) were compromised. (I don't actually use it myself, but noticed the masking on the dev list.)

Package removed.
