sys-apps/sal-client-1.0_rc3 can't build, it's broken

i suggest to add the -* to the keywords

tree-cleaners: here's one for you.
it's so old that it wants a patched 2.4.18-2.4.20 kernel, and hasn't been touched by upstream since 2003.
please check that it's not needed in the tree, and then zap it.

the 2.6 equivilent is sys-process/audit

Looks like nothing currently in the tree depends on it.

( $ adjutrix -r sys-apps/sal-client --repository-dir /usr/portage returns nothing )
