It would be nice if you could bump net-libs/gnutls to v3.6.5 which was released 2018-12-01 (https://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnutls-help/2018-December/004465.html):

The upstep seems to break the Facebook plugin of Pidgin. Any workaround other than masking gnutls-3.6?

first, you can use stable package.
