LX-Viewer is a program that will allow you to open, view, print and convert DWG or DXF files, typically used in AutoCAD related technical drafting. The most important feature is that LX-Viewer allows you to manipulate your DWG data on the Linux platform.

This application appears a little suspect to me. The application itself is published under GPL license, but the application has dependencies to some libraries of the "Open Design Alliance" (www.opendesign.com). In order to get these libraries you need to request membership at the Alliance ...

Can't the deps be done like cedega? With [F] -- fetch restricted, (Manual download)?

Yes, it is funny, though engineer societies often are in my experience.

However, according to their page the ODA libraries may be distributed as part of programs that are distributed for free to the public. It seems to me that this would include Gentoo. Therefore, only one person has to apply for membership, grab the libraries, and distribute them through Gentoo.

I'm sure the application process (gag) would clarify whether this is the case or not. If I'm right then this shouldn't stand in the way of distribution through portage, as users wouldn't have to apply for membership to use the libraries.

Having a read of http://www.opendesign.com/join I say not, or rather that person would have to be a Founding member of the ODA.

I need access to this library so I'm joining, If I work out a way of giving gentoo access to it I'll let y'all know
