Description Stuart Coyle 2004-10-08 05:06:07 UTC
After fixing bug 65303, as described there, I emerged gxine.
gxine segfaults after briefly flashing up a window, but only for non-root users.

I expect a problem with permissions is the culprit. This seems similar to bug 53630

Xine runs fine.

I'll run some traces and a debugger over it as soon as I have time tonight or tomorrow.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge gxine
2. run as non-root
3.

Actual Results:
connect: No such file or directory
server: socket '/home/stuart/.gxine/socket' created
Segmentation fault

Any further news on this?
Comment 2 Roland Bär 2005-02-10 09:08:27 UTC
We have a similiar Bug #80836 except that following isn't displayed:
connect: No such file or directory
server: socket '/home/stuart/.gxine/socket' created
Comment 3 Roland Bär 2005-02-20 12:52:55 UTC
Could you try my patch attached to Bug #80836
Quite a good chance, that this was it...
Comment 4 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-18 04:19:44 UTC
Should be a dupe of #80836, which is fixed by version 0.4.3.
Feel free to reopen it if it's not a dupe and the problem persists.
