Description ano nymous 2004-10-06 21:16:41 UTC
the ion wm has multiple virtual screens. when epiphany goes into fullscreen mode it displays an "exit fullscreen" button in the corner of the screen.

but if you switch to another screen, the stupid button doesn't go away

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter epiphany fullscreen mode
2. switch to another screen with ion
3. admire the stupid button that shouldn't be there

Actual Results:
stupid button appears

Expected Results:
stupid button not appear plz thx

i don't know enough about x and multiple screens to actually fix this

i'll post a patch that adds a gconf option to disable the dumb button completely

i'm not going to feed this upstream just yet. feel free to do that if you feel
inclined. i'm no expert, the patch could be wrong but it seems to work for me

 thx lates

you should send it upstream, that is a much better place then here for it. Seems like a reasonable fix.
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-08 16:22:57 UTC
i don't think the button is undesirable in FS mode & as such the patch is no-good

if you want to make a patch you should figure out why it's showing on all virtual screens & fix that, i know for a fact totem exhibits the same behaviour.
Comment 4 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-03 08:13:08 UTC
this sounds like a problem with the ion wm and not with anything gnome.

reporter: do you still have this problem, or have resolved it?
Comment 5 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-15 17:35:39 UTC
no response from reporter. most likely not a gnome issue anyways.
