I have created my first ebuild, because the current wine ebuilds are IMHO completely useless, and <quote>broken as snot</quote>. There are probably ways it can be improved. ATM it does a standard install, with nothing special other than putting a sample config file in /etc/wine/wine.conf. Otherwise it performs a standard source install. Works for me.
