xmame 0.87 patch for gxmame

Works for me too. They've changed things around so it breaks front-ends again.
Not as badly as last time but still enough to be annoying. There's a patch for
gxmame on the forum of their sourceforge site:

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1157999&forum_id=167262

but the formatting is too mucked up for it to apply properly. I've hacked up a
version with the proper formatting by making the changes manually and diff'ing
it against the gxmame CVS snapshot elsewhere on the bugzilla and everything's
good here

Looking forward to seeing .87 in portage!

30 october and still no news
AFAICS gxmame doesn't work with 0.86, so I really need the 0.87 releasing on portage :/

Got an ebuild?
Comment 5 Ian Weber 2004-10-31 22:53:12 UTC
You can use the gxmame ebuild/tarball in this bug:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57524

to emerge a version of gxmame compatible with xmame 0.86. You need to add the patch I put in this bug to account for new changes in 0.87.

To install 0.87 all you need do is copy the 0.86 ebuild and glx-fix patch into your overlay, rename it 0.87 and then run ebuild digest on it. I've been doing that on xmame releases for ages with no ill effects.
