Kaffeine 0.5 rc1 was released today. I modified the previous ebuild to make it work with the new release.

This is in CVS now. 

Arches that previously worked ("~ppc ~sparc ~amd64") need to test and set KEYWORDS if it works. Sending Bug on to ppc.

No, but 0.5 seems to be a rewrite of major parts of the application so I thought it may be useful to do a quick test on each arch before enabling it.

From the main page it says "Requirements: xine-lib 1.0rc4 (recommended: rc6a) and KDE 3.2"

The dependency for xine-lib is right, but the dependency for KDE should be bumped to 3.2 from 3.1

RC2 is now out - bumping should work.

It includes a security fix: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69663

rc2 is available in portage since Nov. 8. 

In the future please don't reopen an existing bug but rather report a new bug for new Versions.
