Problem exists since some weeks already. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 656976 *** |
/usr/share/man/man5/mailcap.5.bz2 is in both packages, net-mail/metamail-2.7.53.3-r1 and net-mail/mailbase-1.4. net-mail/mailbase-1.4 version has four changes against the version in net-mail/metamail-2...: - the header line mailbase: "MAILCAP(5) File Formats Manual MAILCAP(5)" metamail: "MAILCAP(4) Kernel Interfaces Manual MAILCAP(4)" - in the text body mailbase: Finally, if the command contains "\%", those two characters will be replaced by a single % character. metamail: Finally, if the command contains "", those two characters will be replaced by a % character. - mailbase: thus allowing the calling program (e.g. metamail) to tell the called program metamail: thus allowing th3e calling program (e.g. metamail) to tell the called program - in the "references" section mailbase: SEE ALSO run-mailcap(1), mailcap.order(5), update-mime(8) RFC 1524 (<http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1524>) metamail: SEE ALSO metamail(1) I haven't seen any other differences in the rendered versions of the man pages. To reproduce: - emerge -1 metamail '<net-mail/mailbase-1.4' - emerge -1 mailbase # will fail, see next step - compare output of - man -M $PORTAGE_TMPDIR/portage/net-mail/mailbase-1.4/image/usr/share/man mailcap - man mailcap Please remove mailcap.5.bz2 from net-mail/metamail to allow an update of net-mail/mailbase without removing /usr/share/man/man5/mailcap.5.bz2 ... Kind regards, Dominik
