Description norbert kamenicky 2004-10-01 06:49:10 UTC
My pointer device is Genius NetMouse Pro.
It has 5 buttons, the one on left side (thumb button)
is used for pasting of marked text.
This work perfect everywhere, except of mozilla.

If I paste a text (previously highlighted by left mouse button)
by thumb mouse button during email compose or in html Composer,
it's never pasted to cursor position, but randomly.(I don't see
any logic here.)

If I dont use thumb button, but CTRL-INS, SHIFT-INS or CTRL-C, CTRL-V
combinations, it works properly, but it's slow and uncomfortable.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.mark some text using left mouse button out of mozilla
2.paste marked text using thumb button to mozilla (mail or html) compose window
3.

Actual Results:
text pasted randomly never to cursor position

Expected Results:
text pasted to actual cursor position (as usual)

This happens with all Mozilla releases I remember ...
doesn't matter if Mozilla runs under xfree or xorg.
I use KDE, didn't try it under Gnome etc.
My current mozilla is 1.7.3.

Stale bug, reopen if this is still an issue with up-to-date ebuild versions.
