Currently, openmw can depend on either both >=dev-games/openscenegraph-3.5.5[ffmpeg,jpeg,png,sdl,svg,truetype,zlib] and dev-games/openscenegraph-qt OR <dev-games/openscenegraph-3.5.5[ffmpeg,jpeg,png,qt5,sdl,svg,truetype,zlib]
The problem is that there are no versions before 3.5.5 of openscenegraph in the tree and anyone who was on a prior version will fulfill the <3.5.5 dep, thereby keeping them on an old (unavailable) version of OSG. Solution: Remove this option and  have openmw depend on just >=dev-games/openscenegraph-3.5.5 and dev-games/openscenegraph-qt
