I use it fine almost daily. Can you try launching it from terminal (graphical one, like gnome-terminal) and see if it prints out any issues? (In reply to Mart Raudsepp from comment #1) > I use it fine almost daily. Can you try launching it from terminal > (graphical one, like gnome-terminal) and see if it prints out any issues? Just prints a warning about webkit being missing. I turn on the webkit useflag and the warning goes away but it still doesn't launch. Just got it to launch 1 out of several tries so it must be intermittent. I think what might be happening is, it starts the first time, and then fails to start any subsequent times until the next reboot. Is this still an issue with current versions? (Adding 3.32.4 soon too) (In reply to Mart Raudsepp from comment #5) > Is this still an issue with current versions? (Adding 3.32.4 soon too) Still an issue with v3.30. I just noticed a console message: GNOME Builder requires a desktop session with D-Bus. Please set DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS. Sounds like you are launching your desktop somehow wrong to not have a dbus user session bus? (In reply to Mart Raudsepp from comment #7) > Sounds like you are launching your desktop somehow wrong to not have a dbus > user session bus? nathan@gentoodesktop ~ $ cat ~/.xinitrc #!/bin/sh exec startplasma-x11 Don't do that, you are potentially not launching dbus user session or other things via the xinitrc.d machinery, because startx skips those when ~/.xinitrc is present. If you insist on using startx, find an appropriate session from /etc/X11/Sessions (there ought to be a plasma one in there), set XSESSION variable to that in a /etc/env.d/ file as instructed on the wiki, delete your .xinitrc and run startx without parameters. And if using a desktop manager, then why have a .xinitrc in the first place (In reply to Mart Raudsepp from comment #9) > Don't do that, you are potentially not launching dbus user session or other > things via the xinitrc.d machinery, because startx skips those when > ~/.xinitrc is present. > If you insist on using startx, find an appropriate session from > /etc/X11/Sessions (there ought to be a plasma one in there), set XSESSION > variable to that in a /etc/env.d/ file as instructed on the wiki, delete > your .xinitrc and run startx without parameters. And if using a desktop > manager, then why have a .xinitrc in the first place I don't have anything in /etc/X11/Sessions besides "Xsession". I deleted .xinitrc and Builder works now. |
