Description ta2002 2018-04-06 11:31:44 UTC
This was in the tree at least from 2005 (possibly before) up until about five years ago when it suddenly disappeared (and I can't seem to find the reason it did). Home page: https://github.com/jcupitt/libvips Why this is useful (1): https://github.com/jcupitt/libvips/wiki/Speed-and-memory-use Why this is useful (2): It is one of the very few programs available for linux that supports .heic (HEVC).

Here is reason why it was removed # Pacho Ramos <firstname.lastname@example.org> (28 Dec 2017) # A major version bump is needed (#412447), fails with multilib-strict # (#613542), not compatible with newer imagemagick (#619514), cannot be # downloaded (#635566). Removal in a month. media-libs/vips media-gfx/nip2

Please have a look at these ebuilds http://gpo.zugaina.org/media-libs/vips test, report and improve them. I suggest to work hand in hand with the overlay maintainer at first. As soon as someone provides a clean ebuild and wants to maintain it, we can reintroduce it to the tree.
