Webcam is listed in video settings (tested with integrated webcam on laptop), but it does not capture any image (black screen is diplayed bellow).

After emerging gst-plugins-meta[v4l] it started working -- I tried media-video/kamoso just to ensure my webcam is working and it has all required drivers, media-video/kamoso pulled the gst-plugins-meta[v4l]

Should this USE flag be added to rdeps?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge gst-plugins-meta[-v4l] and unmerge gst-plugins-v4l2
2. check webcam in skype
Actual Results:  
Skype does not capture image from webcam

I thought i commented on this, but here it is again

* gstreamer isn't a dependency for skypeforlinux (as reported upstream)
** many users including myself use this package without gstreamer without issue

I suspect gstreamer meta package pulled in some other dependency that you didn't know you needed for for v4l to function properly with your card.. No idea.

I cannot replicate this issue.

I'm going to close this for now, but if this persists for you, or if other people report similar problems I'll dig back in, for now I'm going to say this is probably a lower level library issue for a specific users desktop and not a skypeforlinux in general problem
