Description Andreas Kotowicz 2002-08-15 05:56:55 UTC
Just did a "emerge -u world". yelp won't run:

yelp: error while loading shared libraries: libgailutil.so.16: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory.

I noticed that emerge -u world installed libgailutil.so.17, so the version yelp
is looking for doesn't exist anymore. also tried unmerging and remerging yelp
again, but it's still looking for libgailutil.so.16. I'll attach whole yelp
emerge log file

Comment 4 Andreas Kotowicz 2002-08-29 07:45:22 UTC
this version of yelp isn't used anymore. so I'll close this bug
Comment 5 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-08-29 08:01:56 UTC
can't be resolved

when i do a emerge -pu world i get:
gentoo usr # emerge -pu world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[ebuild    U ] sys-kernel/openmosix-sources-2.4.17-r2 to /
[ebuild    U ] sys-apps/openmosix-user-0.2.0 to /
[ebuild    U ] dev-php/php-4.2.2-r1 to /
[ebuild    U ] gnome-extra/yelp-1.0.3 to /
[ebuild    U ] gnome-base/gnome-2.0.1 to /

gentoo usr #

watching in the portage/gnome-base/gnome/gnome-2.0.1.ebuild, since there is no
newer, there is a dependency for yelp:

RDEPEND="!gnome-base/gnome-core
        >=x11-wm/metacity-2.4.0
        >=gnome-base/gnome-session-2.0.5
        >=gnome-extra/bug-buddy-2.2.0
        >=gnome-base/gdm-2.4.0.7
        >=media-gfx/eog-1.0.2
        >=app-editors/gedit-2.0.2
        >=gnome-extra/yelp-1.0.3
        >=gnome-base/nautilus-2.0.4
        >=x11-terms/gnome-terminal-2.0.1
         =gnome-base/gnome-applets-2.0.1

watching out the yelp directory, 1.0.3 is the latest

so i can't compile gnome and yelp
