Can we bump to 1.14.3? Also, your patch doesn't work with openblas from science overlay. Using / merging patch from portage works OK. Created attachment 529584 [details, diff]

The same ebuild and patch appear to work with numpy 1.14.5 (when all files are named appropriately) It looks like the bump happened without us noticing the existence of this patch. Sorry Nick. |
Created attachment 521576 [details] numpy-1.14.1.ebuild I haven't tested this extensively but the attached ebuild and new version of no-hardcode-blas.patch work for me when installing, and the package imports properly and seems to work.
