I don't get a warning when i'm running kuickshow from the konsole. The Preview within Kuickshow works... Portage 2.0.50-r11 (gcc34-x86-2004.2, gcc-3.4.2, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r0, 2.6.8-gentoo-r3) KDE 3.3.0 Qt 3.3.3 Xorg 6.8.0-r1 turning off the composite extension from xorg.conf correct the problem. Ok, it's just a workaround and you cannot use transparency anymore... but it's a good start point :) Alternative workaround, as noted here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89313#c8 Run kuickshow as: XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 kuickshow Or construct the appropriate shell script to launch. Okay, thanks guys for your input Seems now that we know what is causing this we could probably close this thread, since kde is working on a fix ? I think upstreams sounds right.. As workaround, you may add a patch to the makefile to create a simple wrapper script? |
