Description Alex Murray 2004-09-21 07:24:35 UTC
Just upgraded to hal-0.2.98 but now g-v-m won't automount my usb thumb drive and digital camera - however it worked fine with 0.2.97..
They still show up in Computer, but it won't automount them
Cds automount okay, just not usb drives
After downgrading back to 0.2.97 they work fine again

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge hal-0.2.98
2. etc-update to overwrite old conf files with new ones
3. rebooted

Actual Results:
Drives show up in Computer on GNOME desktop, but are not automounted

Expected Results:
Automounted them like for hal-0.2.97 =

enigma root # emerge info

Just so you know - have:
gnome-volume-manager-1.0.2 (and rest of new GNOME 2.8.0_pre1 packages)
dbus-0.22-r1
hal-0.2.98 (now 97 to keep automounting feature)

Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-21 07:42:00 UTC
i assume you restarted your session & hal while testing 0.2.98 ?
Comment 3 Alex Murray 2004-09-21 07:43:15 UTC
yeah I rebooted after 0.2.98 was installed but no dice

Would seem hald is not "running" although is in runlevel...
is the init,d/hald script broken??
Comment 5 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-23 08:19:19 UTC

Yeah the updated g-v-m works as it should with hal-0.2.98.
Thanks foser.
