Excuse the fat finger. Take 2: Stephen has been very active on #gentoo-bsd and has contributed various fixes in #gentoo-dev. Especially of note is bug 2938 which include patches that ferringb says "are pretty good". Now just ponder for a moment at the significance of that. A lot of other bugs of his have been very clean and precise to fixing the exact cause of the fault of ebuilds in general. Currently he's working on bsd init stuff. That needs a lot of tender lovin' care. g2boojum, ka0ttic and angusyoung are keen to get him on his feet with the BSD stuff and I'll mentor the general ins and outs of gentoo. Stephen declined to offer to go by pornstar and wants to stay with spb@g.o (recruites - Its your discression if this 3 letter stuff is acceptable though :-) Stephen have been helping Gentoo/FBSD project with a lot of things. I can help him in anything related to Gentoo/FBSD. Stephen also has my help and support regarding anything, BSD-related or not. P.S. Removing my email address since I get mail from bsd@ I'm going to be unreachable for a few days as of the 2nd/3rd October, since I'm going off to university. I should be online again after a few days, but I'll probably still be fairly busy. With any luck I'll be able to respond to any communication by the end of the week though. Anyway, I asked a question and haven't gotten an answer yet. This bug was opened due to a suspected period of inactivity, however, CVS shows that spb commits about once a month. Whether anyone thinks thats 'enough' is a personal opinion, but once a month is not an inactive dev. Closing bug. His last commit to Gentoo was in June (and that was two very minor commits to the devmanual). His last commit for an ebuild before then was in early June. I suggest that you look to the project before opening up a devrel issue on the status of the QA team wrt their leads direction for the team, or lack there of. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/glep/glep-0048.html: states that you must be a dev for 4 months to join QA, does not indicate must be consecutive 4 months. http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo/xml/htdocs/proj/en/qa/index.xml?r1=1.16&r2=1.17 indicates that spb has been lead since Sept 2006. QA team is 5 months past due on an election. halcy0n, it looks to me like you have options before you that you have not yet pursued, perhaps you may like to do so now. Which fails to take into account anything I did during that time that wasn't entirely based around a Gentoo CVS repository. Ramereth is correct; I did count the paludis work in error. Spb, while contributions to the paludis project are valid and considerably appreciated by anyone who uses paludis, those commits do not count towards Gentoo in the sense that you are implying. Contributions on other FOSS projects do not count as contributions made to this project unless it is hosted on Gentoo infra. That said, spb has made 3 commits in the past two months, which classifies him as an active dev. He cannot be penalized for previous inactivity when he is active now. We offer any inactive dev the option to become active again, spb simply turned it around without us asking him. Please proceed with retirement procedures, reference bug 216219, however use this bug for processing. Fixed in the forums. - Removed gentoo/developer cloak on freenode - Removed #gentoo-dev access - Reassigned all remaining bugs dev/cvs/lists/ldap done - Removed from proj/ pages.
