The dev-java/commons-logging-1.2-r2 ebuild currently in the tree fails to build properly with USE="-servletapi" because the patches don't apply properly.  This is due to a typo in the ebuild where PATCH should read PATCHES.  Once that's been changed, the patches are applied and everything builds fine.

Ah, sorry for the duplicate.  I found it Friday morning but didn't get around to investigating it until yesterday.  If you still wanted the ebuild formatted as it had previously been, it was just the typo causing the problem, but going back to epatch works too.  Thanks for the speedy fix, it all works fine!  5:)
