For me and probably other mutt users this is a crucial tool to deal with links in mail. Do not remove without giving a reason and/or alternatives, please. I added app-text/extract_url a while ago as a replacement. The main reason to drop urlview is because it's no longer avaliable at: ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/infosys/mail/mutt/contrib/ IIRC, last time I checked this software it was more than 10 years old. app-text/extract_url is an excellent alternative I've been using it for a while and work fine. If you are interested in keeping urlview you can do it in your own overlay.
