I try to emerge phpMyadmin and awstat at the same time and bouth had a compilation error in the 1st dependence dev-util/dialog-0.9_beta20031002 with this error output:

My system is a Linux 2.4.25-gentoo-r4  i586 Pentium MMX GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
running : apache2, samba, sshd, dhcpd, ftp.
my primary mirror is RNL's mirror (ftp://ftp.rnl.ist.utl.pt)
