I rather think that this would be a user preference. Some people may wish to have mpg123 or mpg321 (depending on your political leanings, I suppose) be the mp3 player that the browser calls. Ok, so if i have avifile AND mplayer installed .. which should it update to ? Gentoo is for the guy who wants flexiblity, and not "spoon feeding". At least that is why I put all my free time into it ? I admit, that it is a problem to find the right settings for any user. I did not suggest to to a hardcoding of these settings. I was just trying to start a discussion of whether one could think of an elegant way to solve this problem. As there was no proposal how to handle this issue I will close this bug. |
