Well, I've found the "solution". In mozilla-firefox-bin, /opt/firefox/searchplugins has write access for everybody. In net-www/mozilla-firefox, /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/searchplugins only allows root to write to the directory. `chmod 777 /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/searchplugins` solved the problem. For some reason, Mycroft doesn't allow interactive profile installs, only global. Nothing to fix here. Users shouldn't be able to write to the global plugins directories. The only solution is for upstream to make profile-based plugins work better. |
