Bug 64324 – Emerging dirdiff-1.6 results in ACCESS VIOLATION open_wr (as root)

When I try to emerge dirdiff-1.6 I get an access violation.  I have searched the forums and this bug database and have seen no reference to any problems with dirdiff.



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. login as root
2. type "emerge dirdiff"
3. PROFIT! (ahem...sorry) Error will appear shortly.

That's a great question.  The ebuild that is linked here works, but I have no idea what needs to be done to get it into portage.  As of my last sync (this morning) the ebuild in portage is still broken.  What can I do to fix this?
