Can you reproduce this without the ricer CFLAGS/LDFLAGS? If so, please try to figure out which one is causing the failure. My guess is something LTO-related. (In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #1) > Can you reproduce this without the ricer CFLAGS/LDFLAGS? > > If so, please try to figure out which one is causing the failure. My guess > is something LTO-related. LTO was disabled for this build: dev-lang/python-3.6.3-r1::gentoo was built with the following: USE="gdbm ipv6 ncurses readline sqlite ssl (threads) tk xml -build -examples -hardened -libressl -wininst" ABI_X86="(64)" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=sandybridge -msahf --param l1-cache-size=32 --param l1-cache-line-size=64 --param l2-cache-size=8192 -flto=8 -fuse-linker-plugin -fno-lto -fno-use-linker-plugin -fwrapv" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=sandybridge -msahf --param l1-cache-size=32 --param l1-cache-line-size=64 --param l2-cache-size=8192 -flto=8 -fuse-linker-plugin -fno-lto -fno-use-linker-plugin -fwrapv" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed -Wl,--hash-style=gnu -Wl,--sort-common -flto=8 -fuse-linker-plugin -fno-lto -fno-use-linker-plugin -L." "-march=sandybridge -msahf --param l1-cache-size=32 --param l1-cache-line-size=64 --param l2-cache-size=8192" is just the inlining of "-march=native" to play nice with distcc "-fwrapv" I have no idea where it comes from... What is so "ricer-y" with my LDFLAGS? I'm not sure all of the options you have in CFLAGS/LDFLAGS actually work. Can you reproduce the issue with the following settings? CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=sandybridge" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed" (In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #3) > I'm not sure all of the options you have in CFLAGS/LDFLAGS actually work. > > Can you reproduce the issue with the following settings? > > CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=sandybridge" > LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed" Same result.
