qtiplot-0.9.8.9-sip-4.19.6.patch
I created a patch that "fixes" the reported problem related to the newer SIP version. By "fix" I mean that it allows one to build and use the basic functionality of QtiPlot.
I have absolutely no idea what it actually does. I also did not check the scripting functionality after applying this patch -- I simply do not know how to do that. Otherwise the compiled QtiPlot looks normal and working.
Thanks Vladimir, brilliant! Have you made this patch? I think it also make sense to raise this issue upstream. (In reply to Benda Xu from comment #3) > Thanks Vladimir, brilliant! Have you made this patch? Yes, I made this patch. I am not sure it does not break the scripting functionality though. I have never used scripting in QtiPlot. > I think it also make sense to raise this issue upstream. As far as I know, there is currently no upstream. In a sense that the original developer refuses to publish the newer versions of QtiPlot sources. I tried to contact him a couple of times, but he told me he had no plans on the source code publication. A couple of years ago I reported some bugs, and the developer fixed them quickly, however, he did not publish the fixed code. So I believe, all these bugs we are currently trying to fix, are fixed long ago. We simply have no access to the fixed sources. I wish it changed in the future. QtiPlot is my favorite plotting software. (In reply to Vladimir from comment #4) > (In reply to Benda Xu from comment #3) > > Thanks Vladimir, brilliant! QtiPlot is my favorite plotting software. Thanks for your efforts, Vladimir! There is something broken: whenever I try to perform a non-linear fitting to a custom equation throught "Fit Wizard...", both -r5 and -r6 crash and close with a "segfault violation" after pushing the FIT button. However, built-in fitting options like "linear" or "polynomial" work as expected. Thanks guys for comments and patches. Unfortunately, new versions of qtiplot switched license and will become a proprietary piece of software not suitable for Gentoo. It will be removed this week.
