I've added old ebuild for 37.3.28 to /usr/local/portage, installed and it works just fine. Just an idea to trace the problem: Record the installed files and attach the log for each version. I have the same problem but for me last working version is 34.3.19. I try equery for 34.3.19 and 41.3.76 version of Dropbox. Same problem here (tray icon missing). I have exactly the same problem, though don't remember last working version... didn't use dropbox for a long period of time. Is there any workaround to use this daemon without GUI? To set username/password/sync directories? Any news? Thanks in advance. Faced with the same problem. After some investigation, I've found that with bundled Qt dropbox starts and shows tray icon.
So now I'm using the following patch:

I got it to work eventually, ive pushed the fix in version 43. its kind of an unfortunate solution but better than nothing. I was looking through their versions of libQt and PyQt5 and they seem pretty old. maybe i'll try undoing this in a few versions when they've updated. However, I see another error - after few seconds of running dropbox crashes with "Fatal error: glibc detected an invalid stdio handle" message. Does anyone have any ideas? |
