When I try to emerge media-libs/phonon it will fail with a cmake error:
CMake Error in designer/CMakeLists.txt:
  No known features for CXX compiler

  "GNU"

  version 6.4.0.

Thanks, updated cmake to 3.10.1 and then tried to emerge phonon. Still without success:
CMake Error in designer/CMakeLists.txt:

  version 6.4.0.


Can you emerge phonon with the current 17 profile with gcc 6.4?

We would be flooded with bug reports otherwise, yes. So far this is a singular event. Any other issues building packages?

Only media-libs/phonon as far as I know. I will recheck with remerging world.

media-libs/phonon-4.9.1-r1::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="designer gstreamer qt5 -debug -pulseaudio -qt4 -vlc" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)"

dev-util/cmake-3.10.1::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="ncurses qt5 -doc -emacs -server -system-jsoncpp -test" ABI_X86="(64)"

sys-devel/gcc-6.4.0::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="cxx fortran (multilib) nls nptl openmp pch (pie) sanitize ssp vtv (-altivec) (-awt) -cilk -debug -doc (-fixed-point) (-gcj) -go -graphite (-hardened) (-jit) (-libssp) -mpx -objc -objc++ -objc-gc -pgo -regression-test -vanilla" ABI_X86="(64)"
