the skynet ftp seems to be down for sure, but I was able to find a http mirror: 

http://fizweb.elte.hu/battlefield/Battlefield-1942/Server-Linux/

checksums do match, have fun! :o

Since no one cried out for us to keep it, I'm not going to bother. Random servers like that come and go all the time. I'm not even sure that the Linux version of the server can support the latest clients. I say "latest" but the game is 17 years old. Time to move on.
