The Qt Serial Port module also supports Qt4 - see note on http://wiki.qt.io/Qt_Serial_Port 

In a current Qt4 project we needed this module so I wrote an ebuild - attached. Please consider adding it.

It is unlikely there are going to be any additions to Qt4 packages at this point, while we are busy weeding out Qt4 dependencies everywhere.

Sorry, we're removing Qt 4 support in the tree and not adding anything new.
