Description Christian Strahl 2017-11-16 09:45:41 UTC
if I emerge libreoffice without the java use flag I get the following warning:

"If you plan to use Base application you should enable java or you will get various crashes."

If the application crashes without the java use flag, it should be enabled by default.

Reproducible: Always

This only concerns Base, which only a minority of users will care about.
Comment 2 Christian Strahl 2017-11-16 11:46:16 UTC
Than it's maybe possible to introduce a "base" use flag which requires java and installs libreoffice base and without this use flag libreoffice base won't be installed.

This way no user "...will get various crashes."

There is no way to split the libreoffice binary, unfortunately. It is always all or nothing.
Comment 4 Christian Strahl 2017-11-26 19:56:04 UTC
ok, I think in this case the current state is the best solution.
