Description justin 2004-09-11 19:59:39 UTC
On 2.6.7-r14, portage updated 9/11/04, the ebuild for unreal-tournament (not unreal-tournament-goty) creates a bad shortcut in kmenu under KDE. It has an invalid working directory specified, which causes the shortcut to do nothing. It is fixed by changing the working directory to /opt/unreal-tournament/System rathern than /usr/games

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge unreal-tournament
2. launch "Unreal Tournament" from the Games submenu in Kmenu (KDE Only)
Actual Results:
UT launches but produces no output and immediately exits, no display

Expected Results:
Should have launched with proper environment settings

I suspect you aren't in the games group. It shouldn't matter what directory you start up in since it should still find the executable in your path. The executable is symlinked from /usr/games/bin.

Reopen with output from "groups" and "which ut"
