Are all offical mirrors checked once in a while to be up-to-date? There is https://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync/ but I'm not sure if anybody looks at that very often. I've added the maintainer of the mirror to this bug, so hopefully he'll notice. Two weeks later and still hitting that outdated mirror. Can I manually disable it? Shouldnt this mirror be removed from official distribution? One of my systems is using this mirror every time I sync. Wastes a lot of time calculating dependencies to suggest to downgrade ~200 packages. Only on the second try a working mirror is used. I could not figure out, why only this one system is continuously hitting this mirror. Nothing in /etc/eixrc or /etc/portage/make.conf that would suggest a preferred mirror. I will start to block connections to 89.206.169.171. Disabled, no response from star.net.uk.
