gpsd init script
The config file for the init script

Description Daniel Willmann 2004-09-10 08:26:29 UTC
I hope this is the right category, I found that bug #27192 submited a new init script the same way.

Attached is an init script that I've written to start gpsd on boot. Very useful for wardriving. :-)
It would be nice if you could include this to install with app-misc/gpsdrive since this is the package where gpsd comes from.

Greetings,
Daniel

So nobody needs this?
Anyone?
Comment 3 Mathias Mahnke 2005-02-23 00:41:53 UTC
Seems usefull for me, but usb-gps has to be pluged in before, isn't it?
Comment 4 Daniel Willmann 2005-02-26 20:06:03 UTC
Yes, that is correct. I wrote it because I have a special runlevel for wardriving which automatically starts gpsd and kismet_server. Could also be useful in a CarPC or the like.

Please, attach plaintext files, we don't want any tarballs.

gpsd init script

This the init script from the tarball. I changed a few small things (like
header changes from Gentoo Technologies Inc. to Gentoo Foundation).

gpsd already seems to include an init script now.
