 I killed the test after 9 h of run time

I can't really determine anything from this test output, partly, because its not obvious which test application was running too long and was terminated.

If you can replicate this failure with DIST_TEST_OVERRIDE="do verbose" that'd be great, but as it stands, this is basically ENEEDINFO, and if its not possible to follow up with more info, INVALID.

Shall I put that into /etc/portage/bashrc unconditionally for all images ?

That's not safe to do generically, only for things that already fail as a second pass to find the cause.

Partly, because some dists have DIST_TEST set to a value such as "skip", for whatever reason, and DIST_TEST_OVERRIDE="do verbose" then turns that from a test that shouldn't run into a test that does run.
