Have you tried booting to a 1.2 LiveCD? re: Live-CD 1.2 no, but only because I could not find anything older than 1.4 (I have only found 1.4, 2004.0, and 2004.2 on the mirrors). Where can I download a 1.2 Live CD iso? Sorry for the extended delay -- I was not able to get everything running before I had to leave town... I was unable to complete the full install due to differences in portage databases getting confused during sync. I will follow up on this, and one other lead, when I get back in about a week. Thanks again for the speedy reply. EBo -- use the 1.2 release ... we really cant support gcc-2.x and glibc-2.2.x anymore, so g'luck ! ;) I downloaded the 1.2 release and was thrashing the system trying to upgrade the tools. I put it aside when I had to leave town for a little. As a note, I stumbled onto the real problem which was masked by the gcc-2.95/glibc-2.2 incompatibilities. I literally just got it working about 5 minuites ago. The solution does not depend on *having* to have gcc-2.95/glibc-2.2 Hopfully I will not have to depend on the old 1.2 distro. Thanks for your time and suggestions! EBo -- |
